| When you will go to the florist shop, they will show there work through an album of floral and decoration themes. That album will have 40 or 50 different floral and decoration themes.
Big florist not only do decoration with flowers, they provide their own structure and lighting arrangements also. But remember this lighting is not for the whole event. It is just one of the part of the decoration. Florists use the light to enhance the decoration. If your decoration budget is more than 1 lakh then most of the big florists like Ferns N Petals do not charge for lighting.
If your budget is less than 1 lakh then you will have to pay the lighting fees separately in addition to the decoration and flower fees. |

| What they will charge, that depends on your budget. If you say them my budget for flower decoration is Rs 5000/- then they will do all the decoration within that budget. Similarly if you say my floral budget is Rs 200,000 then they will do the decoration according to that budget i.e. they know what type of flowers should be used, what type of structure and lighting should be used for a particular budget. |
| How a Florist Work? |
| First he will ask you when is the event (i.e. date and time) and where is the event (i.e. the venue). Then he will visit the venue selected by you. If venue is a simple garden, park, community hall, hotel or a banquet hall, then he can install his own structures for decoration.
If venue is a marriage garden with already installed structure then he will not dismantle the existing structure to install his own structure. Then he will do decoration on the existing structure.
After visiting the venue, he will do meeting with the decorator (i.e. the tent house) or venue manager, so that he can develop a uniform theme for an event. |
| Most florists do decoration for all types of events like wedding, fashion show, engagement, Ladies Sangeet, Reception, Conference, parties etc. If you hiring a florist for a wedding ceremony then tell him whether the wedding is from the bride side or from the groom side or from both sides, so that he can know whether he has to install a Mandap or not. Also tell the florist, the color of both bride and groom’s wedding attire. He will design a theme according to the wedding attire.
Big florist also provide complete package in which they will not only do the decoration with structures, flowers and lighting, but they will provide a decorator (tent house) also.
Having such type of packages is usually good if you want to have uniform theme for your whole event.
After: getting the theme (selected by you), visiting the venue and meeting with the decorator (tent house), then he (i.e. florist) will create three or four blue prints of the decoration design. He will then show it to us for selecting one of them.
Florists do car decoration also. Charges of decorating a car depend upon how much you want your car to be decorated. Average car decoration cost Rs 1800-2000. |

| Never hire a florist who does not have a proof of his work. He must have album, from which you can select your theme. Most of the florist claim that they did decoration here and there, and that they can do decoration for all types of event. Do not trust
them. Always try to hire big and reputed florist. No only they will provide best flowers, but there decoration will also be of excellent quality. As they will have a proof of their work, so you will know what to expect from them. |
